Is it possible to run Windows Compression (right mouse click on file, send
to, compressed zipped folder) from a Scheduled Task on a specific file? If
not, how about a folder?

You may need a third-party command-line based unzip utility. WinZip has a
command-line addon (not sure if it's a freeware),. You may check these pages

Using these command-line tools, you should be able to script or create a
batch file to accompish your task easily.

The zip functionality that comes with WinXP/Win2k3 does not have a command
line interface.

Some free zip/unzip programs that can help you:

ZipGenius has a command line interface (freeware)

PowerArchiver has a command line version as well:

You'll have to look in the the compression application if there is an option
to integrate with the Windows Explorer shell.
