Run time error in IE 6

D Quinn

Help!

On certain sites (ESPN, washingtonpost, etc.), I get this
error message upon opening the site. How do I stop this
popup from coming up? Running IE6 with sp1, XP Home.
Didn't have any problems prior to the latest round of
updates and upgrade to Office 2003.

Error message is:

"A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to Debug?

Line: 10
Error: 'dclkpuwin' is null or not an object

Yes No"

Variations of the error message include 'object is missing'

Thanks.

D Quinn,
Most of the time this is just errors on the web site ..... not your end.
However some ad-blocking apps will cause this (script error) when the ad or
banner fails to display.

Internet Options | Advanced
Select: "Disable script debugging"
Uncheck: "Display a notification about every script error", click Apply\Ok

Verify these Registry entries exist and are correct:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Disable Script Debugger"="yes"
"Error Dlg Details Pane Open"="yes"
"Error Dlg Displayed On Every Error"="no"
"NoJITSetup"=dword:00000000
"NoWebJITSetup"=dword:00000001

Note: always Export before editing .....
[or]
Download the latest version of Windows Script 5.6 for XP\2K
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

Try installing that and see if it helps with your problem.

You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK
