Run--Time error 2447

We just upgraded our Office from 97 to XP. We have an
Access 97 database that worked fine, but after the upgrade
we are now getting this error (There is an invalid use of
the . (dot) or ! operator or invalid parentheses.) I have
seen a lot of newsgroups saying it's code, but some of our
computers get this error and others don't. The only thing
is that they are all different machines with different
images, but the images were all done with the same
software and installed in the same order. I realize that
is probably my image, but does anyone know where I could
look first.

The problem will be with your References. When editing a database which is used with multiple versions of Access always make changes using the earliest version of Access. Access 2K2 and 2K3 behave reasonably well with References while Access 97 and 2K are very literal. Mixing 97 & 2K can be a nightmare. If you make changes using the early versions of Access Access 2K2 & 2K3 will adjust the References to suit
To adjust the References open the database on the computer where it is ok, open the vb editor (ALT F11) & check the References by selecting References from the Tools menu
Now do the same on the machine where it is going wrong & look for MISSING. Adjust the missing Reference to the correct version

I tried that and both machine's references were exactly
the same.
