When I run regedit I receive this error message:
This application has failed to start because ACLUI.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I do not know how to re-install the application. Can anyone help?

Hi Lew T,

Using Windows Explorer or My Computer, go to Tools>Folder Options>View tab
and select the radio button beside "Show hidden files and folders". Now,
navigate to C:\Windows\System32\dllcache Locate the aclui.dll file,
right-click on it and choose Copy. Now, navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and
go to Edit>Paste.

Andrew, the only CD's I have are the System Recovery and Application Recovery discs. XP Home edition is loaded on my PC, but I have no XP CD. Any suggestions?

I just did as Patti MacLeod said above. Since I couldn't locate aclui.dll in the dllcache, I copied from another windows' system32 folder into the current windows' system32 folder. And regedit immediately started working for me.
