Wes,
Perhaps the parent domain (freewebs.com) added to the Restricted sites
list?

Gotcha on the MID.
Clicking an MID in OE, opens the message...
They will also open in OE if pasted into the Run command or the Address
bar
of IE.
I assume that it works with other newsreaders to click the links.

I just set IE Internet zone to Low and got the same Not Found error.

WTF, Chuck? [That's rhetorical and colloquial.]
I have the Internet zone set to Medium, with one customization; Allow
paste
operations via script disabled.
IE | Tools | Internet Options | Security tab | Custom Level button |
File download ENABLED
I just set it to medium-low and got the same error.
I just set it LOW and got the same error.
Beats me. The avi must be rated PG or higher. LOL
Meanwhile, I suspect that your restrictive browser security settings do
not allow for any URL redirection on your systems.
Apparently.

Wes, no need to give up. MID = Message ID
For instance, the following link (example) contains the
MID <
[email protected]>
http://groups.google.com/[email protected]
Until now, Google was redirecting automatically to the corresponding
article when posting that way. It still works here and therefore, I'm
somewhat surprised that you and Ramesh encountered these problems.
I was posting an AVI file (DivX), it shows that this redirection still
works. However, I was using a 19" wide screen (16:9) display and there-
fore, you may need a pretty high resolution in order to play that movie:
