RUN: Winkey-R

SEARCH: Winkey-F

Vista Home Premium 32 SP1
http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

I have two computer here and both lost it, as well as the real search
option, all I have now instead of the run command is a button "Search"
that does nothing because the search feature was removed from Vista

I have Sp1 and the run command is still there on the menu.

I did, and it is no longer in the list, I am lost I need the run
command accessible (and that doesn't mean the desktop)

Did you try right click the taskbar, click properties, start menu,
customize, its right there, just check it and apply.

The "NoRun" does not exist, and the RUN coomand as disappeared
from all users, and a friend of mine notice that in its place
there is a new SEARCH, which does nothing since the search in
Vista does not exist anymore

In the Start Search box, type 'regedit<enter>'

In the registry, navigate to:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

In the right-hand pane, look for a value named 'NoRun' and delete
it if it exists.

My keyboard (Gateway) has 2 WinKeys, buttons for: sleep, browser, search,
calculator, sound up/down/mute, and media player controls
(stop/pause/FF/REW).
Some of them are quite handy, and they don't get in my way. I guess I'm not
too clumsy....

You never mentioned that you were disabled in any previous posts. My wife
is disabled due to MS, so I am familiar with people with coordination
problems. And yes, she is clumsy, due to hand tremors. She is reduced to
using one hand, her left, and it doesn't work well anymore.
I would think that you would be interested in something that would help,
like pressing one button, instead of clicking on the Start button, and
selecting items from the menu. I know it's difficult, but there comes a
time when you have to realize that you cannot continue to do what "normal"
people do.

But apparently you do not really want assistance, so I must ignore you from
now on.
Have a good day.

You never mentioned that you were disabled in any previous posts. My
wife is disabled due to MS, so I am familiar with people with
coordination problems. And yes, she is clumsy, due to hand tremors. She
is reduced to using one hand, her left, and it doesn't work well anymore.
I would think that you would be interested in something that would help,
like pressing one button, instead of clicking on the Start button, and
selecting items from the menu. I know it's difficult, but there comes a
time when you have to realize that you cannot continue to do what
"normal" people do.

But apparently you do not really want assistance, so I must ignore you
from now on.
Have a good day.

Wellare n't we lucky, I will never buy a keyboard that as does keys,
it gets in the way and does nothing usefull, other than openning the
start menu when you don't need ti becuase while you moved your finger
to type you just happened to it those stupid and useless thing

WHen I need to open the Start menu, I do it the way it is suppose to
be done, just it it with the mouse and then it will open because I
REUQEST it

All of my keyboards including a "plain" keyboard that I've had for 10
years has a WinKey.

I have two computer here and both lost it, as well as the real
search option, all I have now instead of the run command is a
button "Search" that does nothing because the search feature
was removed from Vista

I have Sp1 and the run command is still there on the menu.

I did, and it is no longer in the list, I am lost I need the
run command accessible (and that doesn't mean the desktop)

Did you try right click the taskbar, click properties, start
menu, customize, its right there, just check it and apply.

The "NoRun" does not exist, and the RUN coomand as
disappeared from all users, and a friend of mine notice
that in its place there is a new SEARCH, which does nothing
since the search in Vista does not exist anymore

message In the Start Search box, type 'regedit<enter>'

In the registry, navigate to:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

In the right-hand pane, look for a value named 'NoRun' and
delete it if it exists.

Yes, I made the change but the only thing that changed was the name of the
button from Search to Run but it still will not do anything

I will recheck them later do make sure that I entered them correctly, I
probably made a mstake somewhere while typing in the keys

I am sorry to hear about your wife, but I try keep on as usual as much as
possible so I tend not to mentioned the handicap, and to me mentioning it
is a source of disgrace, and that mean that I am less than the rest of the
people

I hope that your wife will get better, I know that there is a lot of
research regarding MS, but unfortunately for those like me it 's
something that even the medical community does not even want to
acknowlegde
