"Run As" opening every time I run a program

I've recently gotten rid of a few viruses, and because my Norton
subscription was expired and outdated, I downloaded and used the trial
version of "Kaspersky anti-virus".

While doing so, I think I might have turned on a security feature, as
everytime I open/run a new program, a window message opens up, asking me to
choose which user account I wish to use. It asks:

'Which user account do you want to use to run this program?'

And prompts me to choose Current User with a check box for 'protecting my
computer and data from unauthorized program activity', or Following User.

How do I turn this feature off?

Only I access this computer, so I have one administrative user account
without a password, and the Guest account is turned off.

The window that opens up is the same thing that opens when you hold Shift,
right click a program, and click 'run as'.

It sounds as though your exe associations have been corrupted. Go to the
following site, http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm, scroll to
line 12 and click "EXE (lnk and regfile) Fix for Windows XP" and see if that
resolves the issue.
