rules not working

I made a rule to colour headers of my (from) news messages red, but it
doesn't work.
Is this one of Mails bugs?

No, it's a Windows Mail Bug. Coloring replies to your messages is very
iffy.

I have a rule that colors my posts red, and it works well.
What doesn't work so well is coloring replies to a thread where
you are the originator.

All of the other rules I've tried work well.

No. It's not a rule problem. It's just that WM has trouble figuring out
which posts are replies to *your* post.
