rules for tasks?

I would like to be able to delete completed tasks automatically, without affecting any uncompleted tasks, however long they have been on the system. The archiving options do not appear to allow this. Someone suggested using a rule, but I can't find anywhere where you can write rules for tasks as opposed to e-mail messages. Can anyone help please?
 
Forgot to say that I am using Office Pro XP on a Windows XP system.
