Rule to mark messages read?

Is there any wya in Outlook 2000 to set up a rule to mark certain messages as
read? I get messages from certain servers that I don't really care aobut but
can't get taken off the list. Is there any way to automatically mark the
messages read when they comein so I don't have the bolded folder name and see
the little mail icon in the corner? I don't want to just delete them just in
case I need one some day but also don't want to jump to Outlook to read my
new mail when it's one of these messages.

in my short experience to figure that out i couldn't find a way. you can
mark them read, but the new message notification still happens. what i
ended up doing was to make rules to move messages i wanted to get into sub
folders under the inbox and add special notification wav files to play when
those rules were hit... then turn off the general notification function so
if something doesn't hit one of my rules for mail i want it just sits in the
inbox quietly.
