RPC terminated unexpectedly

Hi all;
I have new computer that came with XP home. Every time I
connect to the internet via dial-up after 2 minutes or so
i get this message, RPC service terminated unexpectedly.
I searched support website but only thing I got was
Windows 2000 update. Could any of you guide through this
problem?I appreciate any help in advance. Thanks...

You likely have the blaster virus. See

I get same problem, except my message says, RCD port (i

think) and it times u out, im waiting for a knowledgable
reply!!

i had same problem. ctrl-alt-delete and running processes
showed msblaster. plenty of sites out there with the
cure. "fixblast.exe from symantec works nicely.
