RPC shutdown and double document file opening on desk top

I seem to be having the same trouble as others. First,
whne my desktop comes up my documents file is opened,
twice. Then, if it doesn't freeze up (which it usually
does now), I get the "RPC service terminated
unexpectedly" message, and it shuts down. HELP!!!
