RPC server error

HI, don't know if this is the right place for this question.

Have recently done a clean install of Windows XP Media Centre.
My problem is that when I try to install any device drivers, I get an erroe
message saying "RPC server unavailable".
Have tried changing RPC settings, but still get the same error.

Any suggestions thanks
