Alright my old pc i was once attacked by a hacker but
when i installed the RPC buffer overrun fix there was no
more problems and i also setup up my firewall.

However on my new pc i had forgot to activate the windows
xp default firewall and thus i was hacked VIA the RPC
bug, i tried installing the fix but i keep getting a
Database error and the fix wouldnt install.

The hacker also placed a program which restarted my pc
everytime i startedup, i was sucessful in removing the
programs from my startup and harddisk and so far i have
not experienced any problems with my firewall up.

However i would still like to get the fix installed
properly.Any help would be apreciated

Thank you.

Actually it is a hacker, b4 my system was restarted via
that exploit, someone on irc told me that he was gonna
restart my pc, and the thing is after my system restarted,
-EVERY- file on my desktop was deleted, could the worm
have been programmed to do this?

Also, you didnt say why i could not install the rpc fix.

nevermind, the link you posted led to the proper fix, i
guess i was looking at the wrong one. heh.
But i'm still worried though since someone had told me he
was going to hack me b4 that occured.I also removed
msblast from my pc a few weeks ago. maybe i was mistaken.
Thanks.

Be sure you carefully follow everything on that link to be sure
Blaster is gone.
Especially enable the firewall, it only takes seconds for something to
get to an unprotected computer.

Yah well the vbs script didnt detect any msblast worms on
my computer when i ran it, also i had removed 2programs
that were hidden in my system32 folder b4 i posted here
which added themselves to startup and caused system
restarts everytime i started the computer, the thing is
that they were both created at exacall 5:16 am, and what
i would like to know is how it got there...
Isnt there an exploit that allows a hacker to gain full
control over a users pc?
