Row spacing in detail section of report

How do I get the row spacing in the detail section tighter? (I want the
report to come out with fewer pages).

Four suggestions...
1. Use a font that has a smaller "headroom". Some fonts sit lower in the
text control than others. Arial or MS Sans Serif ride pretty high, and I
use those the most of the time
2. That allows you to bring the bottom edge of the control up until it just
touches the bottom of your font. That will be about a short as you can go.
Numbers (with no descenders like "g" or "y") can have the bottom come up a
bit more.
3. Even though a font may show 8 Point as the smallest it can go, try 7.
4. If your detail contains more than one line of data, using a transparent
background will allow you to bring the controls from line 2 up till they
overlap line 1 by just a bit. Expirement with the amount of overlap to
suit...

Thank you, I will try these suggestions. I am new to this system, and marked
'no' to 'was my question answered'. Sorry!
It seems like there should be a properties setting or something that will
set the spacing between rows of your detail section. In design layout, my
detail section has just one row of controls across the page. In printout,
the data is repeated row after row and the default spacing is really huge -
like almost half an inch! (I used the report wizard to design this report,
if that makes a difference).

Thanks

Each section of your report has a Height property that you can set either by
entering a value or dragging the bottom of the section up.
