Hi,
i have a Win2k machine with a Zyxel modem (earthlink) and a SMC
barracade router.
It is working, but i am worried about security, I also want to
understand what is going on...

when i go to
http://www.auditmypc.com/anonymous-proxy.asp
it says it sees my private IP...

Found your Private IP of 192.168.2.106!

I thought with 2 peices of hardware in between i should not be seeing
this ?
The router address is 192.168.2.1
and the modems address is 192.168.1.1

when i go to the SMC login, it says...
DHCP Client Connected.
WAN IP: 192.168.1.34

so the IP between the SMC and the modem is 192.168.1.34 (the WAN?)

i remember seeing something that said the proper way to set this up,
was to put the modem in bridge (passthrough) mode, but its not, it is
in routing mode
PPPOE passthrough = NO

and the LAN config on the modem is this...

Client IP Pool Starting Address 192.168.1.33
TCP/IP
IP Address
192.168.1.1

Remote DHCP Server N/A

heres an IP config /a
