Hi,

Maybe someone can help me. I'm experiencing something weird.

First, here is my basic setup. I have a Linksys Router which is
192.168.1.1. I have a 16 port switch for all my computers & printers.
Everything works fine.

I have another computer in the next room for which I bought an Access
Point for having a wireless connection. It is 192.168.1.3.

I can ping the access point. I can ping the router. However, I cannot
get past the router with this computer.

I also have a laptop which uses the same access point for wireless
connection, and I can get to the internet just fine.

The network is secured. I do not understand it. I can get past the
access point to the router, but that is as for as I can get with that
one computer..........

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi

Since you have a Router with DHCP, make sure that the Access Point is
configured as a "dumb" transparent device. Switch every thing off use only
for Wireless security.

Hi Jack,

I have a fixed IP, and, everything on my niternet network also has a
fixed IP. So, no DHCP......

Just because you have static IP addresses for all your devices does not mean
that DHCP is not turned on in your access point.
