Hi, I got this error.

Windows can not start due to an error while booting from the RAMDISK
Windows failed to open to RAMDISK image

does the above means my RAM is too small?
I have 128 MB ram, my image SDI is about 200 MB.

May be I should use smaller. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Greg,

Although I think this error is more due to the fact that the path to the SDI
is wrong (either in boot.ini or Remote Boot Manager) the fact that you want
to load a 200MB SDI into 128MB of Ram is the issue. The SDI needs to be
around 85% the size of the installed RAM. This is not a calculated number,
but people have reported problems if the SDI is say 122MB and their
installed RAM is 128MB.

So in short, yes a smaller SDI is the solution (and fixing the arc path
errors of course).

I build the SDI file from the WinPE CD.
How's come when I boot fromWinPE it works?
I checked the WinPE CD it has 133 MB total.
So some how it boots OK.
I will try more!

Greg,
I build the SDI file from the WinPE CD.

Have you tried your SDI successfully?
I don't think you can "easy" make an SDI from WinPE CD. That will be a hack.
How's come when I boot fromWinPE it works?

When you boot from WinPE CD it does not create a RAM disk eating as much memory as OS image size is.
I checked the WinPE CD it has 133 MB total.
So some how it boots OK.
I will try more!
