Hi Lobust25,

This is indeed unusual.

It indicates that there may be a BHO(Browser Helper Object) installed on
your computer that has removed the Unlock toolbars context menu option from
Internet Explorer. It does this by loading itself each time that you load
Internet Explorer and then removing the menu item from IE's menu... nasty.
It indicates that they are doing something that they don't want you to know
about.

It could also be that if you are using a work computer, that your system
administrators have applied a "Policy" to stop Internet Explorer Users
changing their toolbar layouts. If this is the case then contact your System
Administrators to change your Group Policy settings.

To fix the BHO problem is easy in winXP. Open Tools>Manage
Add-ons>Enable-Disable Addons, and sort the list by the Type column.

Scroll down the list and find those Addons that are of type "Browser Helper
Object" and disable each one individually and restart IE between until you
find the name of the one causing the problem. If you find it then go to the
Add/Remove Programs applet (Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove
Programs) and see if there is an un-installer for the BHO.

If you do find it please report back here at this newsgroup to inform us all
of your findings. (Name, Publisher and CLSID of BHO)

Regards.

Thanks for the tip but none of my BHOs seem to be the source of the problem,
I disabled each, one at a time and each time rebooted IE but still the option
was missing

Thanks but it seems that none of my BHOs are the source of the problem, I
followed your instructions and found none of them had an effect
