Roaming profile does not sych on XP & 2003

News@Kooijman

Hi all,

I have a problem with roaming profiles. My Windows XP Pro workstation does
not synchronize the user profiles of my domain users with my Windows 2003
PDC.

The event log mentions that Windows has detected that Offline Caching is
enabled on the Roaming Profile share but when I turn it of on my PDC the
problem remains.

Strangely enough I have a laptop with XP pro in my domain which has no
problems synchronizing the profiles at all. One difference is that the
workstation has two network cards attached to the PDC but disabling one of
them did not help either.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? I am starting to become pretty
desperate.

Thanks in advance,

Bart.

Hi

Here's a TechNet Support WebCast that describes how to use UserEnv logging
to see what's going on with the user environment.

TechNet Support WebCast: Troubleshooting Group Policy and profile issues in
a domain environment by using Userenv logging
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;835302

And here's a related KB article

How to enable user environment debug logging in retail builds of Windows

Bear in mind that it's normal to see errors and warning in this log. Please
post the log back to the newsgroup if you still have difficulty working out
what's going on after reviewing the links above.

Also, check out the User Profile Hive Cleanup utility (UPHClean) on one or
two test machines to see if this resolved the issue. See the following
article for details:

Troubleshooting profile unload issues

Hope this helps

Oli

Straks vind ik je nog een groepsmatige pijnlijke impotentietor. Jij gloeiende ingeblikte wolf. Jij bent een platgekankerde misvormde vandaal.
