I have been using RIS on some IBM Thinkcentre' with basic Intel 100/1000
NIC's. Everything worked great after adding the NIC drivers to the RIS setup
and following the MS article on how to add third party nic drivers.
I recently ordered new IBM Thinkcentres which happen to be a diff model and
have a Broadcom Netxtreme Gigabit Ethernet card. I added the drivers as I did
with the prevous machines, but cannot get the image started. The PXE boot
loads as usual and attempts to locate a DHCP address. What is odd, is that
eventually about 1 minute later, it gets a DHCP address but then gives an
error:
PXE-E55: ProxyDHCP service did not reply to request
It eventually times out to
1962: no operating system found
I have tried everything under the sun:
I have tried adding the options 60, 66, 67 to DHCP servers which is what was
required because of seperate DHCP and RIS server
I have researched this issue, I have done everything I know to do.
Just so there is a little more info, the servers are on switches, there are
no routers in between nor proxy.
Please help. Thanks
