RIS and RealTek NIC problems

We have gotten some new Compaq NX9600 laptops which have a RealTek NIC in
them. I am attempting to get them to work with RIS. I have followed the
usual procedure for adding the drivers, but I still get the old "operating
system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers" error.

The HP/Compaq provided driver expands to create subdirectories for the
different OS's. The WinXP directory contains .cat, .inf, and .sys files.
The root directory doesn't contain anything extra except for datax.cab files
and setup.x type files.

I am thinking that it the driver needs some other file(s) such as dll's, but
those aren't included. HP could not help, and I can't find any information
from RealTek either. The setup doesn't seem to support any extract method
for me to pull any other driver files out and the "extract" command doesn't
like the datax.cab files.

Frankly, it is always something of a mystery as to exactly what files I need
to copy over to the RIS server, and any further insight into that would be
appreciated. For my immediate problem, though, what I really need is to know
what files I need to copy where! Thanks in advance for any and all
assistance!

I should have mentioned that the driver is labeled as Realtek
RTL8139/810x/8169(S/SB)/8110(S/SB).

Has the "usual procedure for adding the drivers" worked for you before?
If so, nevermind.
If not, Try prepending '\' to each each directory you add to
OemPnPDriversPath.

Yes, I have successfully added drivers in the past. What I mean by the
"usual process" was following the KB articles from Microsoft. I suspect that
the problem is that I don't have all the necessary files, but I don't really
have anything else to copy.

ADDITIONAL INFO: I turned on debugging and only got the following 3 lines:
[NETINF] Not supporting INF hw string of
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_167D&SUSSYS_05771014&REV_00
[NETINF] Not supporting INF hw string of PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_167D&SUSSYS_05771014
