Right mouse click problem

I have not resolved this yet. When I left click `Start'
and then `Programs' and try to access the right click
context menu to do a sort, it will not work. I get a flash
through of the underlying `Start' menu and nothing else. I
have now changed the look of the `Start' function from XP
to Classic and the right click works OK. I would prefer to
use the newer layout but can't maintain the sorted list
when I change from one scheme to the other. Any expert
with an idea? I've done lots of scans with adaware, SB S&D,
antivirus SW, etc. Even tried HighjackThis but only found
one item not pertaining to the problem but fixed anyway.
Appreciate any help or ideas.

Here's what you need to do. Rt. click start, choose
properties. Click customize and then choose the advanced
tab. At the top you should see >>open submenus when I
pause on them with my mouse<< check that box (if it
isn't already) You should get what you want now. Wayne

I went through the steps you outlined and found the box
checked already so I tried unchecking and rechecking
several times and verifying the operation (always using
Apply) but no luck. The problem only shows itself in the
Program List window, which is odd. Otherwise I can do
sorts, copy, etc. in any other window. I just do not get a
context menu at all in this one.
