right clik no work when making new folder or copying

I recently upgraded to XP Pro and now when I right click to make a new folder
I just get an hourglass forever until I restart. Also Dr Watson sometimes
comes up telling me that it has to shut down too???
Please help.... ignore previous email because I forgot to tick the please
