Windows XP Locks up When Right Clicking a File

Whenever I right click a file in Windows XP, I get the hourglass icon and
nothing happens for several minutes. If I wait long enough, sometimes the
system resets, sometimes I get this "Dr. Watson has encountered a problem and
needs to close" message.

Any ideas on how to fix?
