Right-Click & Toolbars Non-Functional Sporadically in Outlook XP & Discussion Posts - Searching and

Hey,

Sporadically, the ability to right-click or use toolbars in Outlook just
disappears. Nothing will happen when I right-click, and while the toolbars
aren't greyed out or anything, I just am not able to click on any buttons on
the toolbars. I use MS Word for emails via Outlook, and this doesn't occur
in Word when I'm sending an email, even when the problem is occurring in
Outlook. I have some add-ons for Outlook installed, including Extended
Reminders, Attachment Options, MapPoint Office Add-In, ICQ Express (which I
never use and was simply put there when I installed ICQ), Fax Server
Extension, Windows CE Support, Exchange Extensions property pages, DCC
Extensions, and most recently, PGP Plugin (although the problems were
occurring before the installation of the PGP Plugin). Anyone have any idea
what might be causing this problem or how to resolve it?

Also, anyone know why I can't flag a discussion post for follow-up (when I
say discussion posts, I mean the type of outlook item that you create when
you choose new and then "post in this folder" or CTRL+SHIFT+S)? Any way
around this, as sometimes I'll be forced to send emails via webforms (for
support), but I'll create a discussion post in Outlook with all the
information I just sent via the webform, and I'll want to flag it for
follow-up so I can make sure I hear back from the company within a
reasonable amount of time (just like I'll do with regular email messages I
send) - by the way, I have Slovak Technical Services
(http://www.slovaktech.com) Extended Reminders installed if that helps or
hinders the situation??

Also, how do I search my PST for just discussion posts and not regular email
messages? Is there any way to do this?

Thanks!

Non functional menus are often caused by popup killers.

What happens when you try to flag posts? Are you using Word as your editor?
if so, you may need to open the post and set the flag after saving it. (You
may need to customize the post toolbar with flag options.)

Use Advanced find and search for Message class of IPM.Post (set it up on the
Advanced tab)

As far as I know, I don't have any pop-up killers installed on my PC. It's
only right-click menu's in Outlook XP that sporadically don't work...I can
switch to another program or to my desktop and right click with no problems.
Any ideas??

The only outlook items I can't flag are posts...I have no problem flagging
messages. I use Extended Reminders in conjunction with flagging to notify
me when flags are due (in all sub-folders that I have enabled for Extended
Reminders). When I right click on the post item in Outlook, the flag option
is greyed out...it is not greyed out when I right click on a message item.
Can posts just not be flagged? If so, why?

Searching for message class IPM.Post worked perfectly! Thanks! By the way,
what does IPM stand for? Thanks again Diane!
