"right click" "send to" does not work for outlook 2007

I do not know why this problem exists, and all fixes that I have seen posted
have not worked. I cannot right click on a file, hit 'send to', 'mail
recipient', and have an Outlook window open with the file already attached.
In fact, it opens in Outlook Express, although my chosen default mail client
is Outlook. Creating a short cut in the "Send to" folder to Outlook.exe with
the command "/c ipm.note" at the end does not work. It gives an error message
that the command line argument is not valid, although it reads just as it
should. Does anybody know how to fix this? It is driving me crazy.

transport in your default Outlook profile. Also, which type of files are you
trying to send and how?

I can send mail from Outlook, that is not a problem. I believe I have a valid
mail transport, although not sure where I would check that in Outlook 2007. I
am trying to send all kinds of files, docs, xls, pdf, dwg, etc. If I pick a
bunch of files in a folder, right click, send to, mail recipient, all of them
get attached to a new message that opens in OE, not Outlook. I created a
short cut in my sendto folder for Outlook with the switch /a at the end of
the target path, and now when I pick that one, it will only attach one file,
if I pick more than one file, it gives me a "command line argument not valid"
warning, and nothing happens. So, I have it better than before, but it is
still not working as OE has always worked, which attaches all the files in a
new message. It was a huge time saver for me, I wish I could get Outlook to
respond that way.

it reported. I don't have Outlook 2007 running on XP, though, so I can't
recreate the environment exactly. I'll see if anyone else can.
Can you think of any changes you made to your system that turned OE into
your default program for MailTo:?

I have used OE for many years. It was all I needed being self-employed
working from my home office. Not until this year did I switch to Outlook 2003
due to doing consulting work for a company in their office here in town. They
all use Outlook, and I could not open archived emails on the many engineering
projects that we do. So I bit the bullet and switched. I have had this
problem ever since. I just upgraded to Outlook 2007 last week, and the
problem is still there. I was hoping the upgrade would fixc it, but it did
not. I have been searching for a fix for months, to no avail.

I haven't done anything as far as I know that could have caused this.
Outlook 2003 was always on my computer, I just chose to use OE instead, which
basically made it my default until I switched to Outlook 2003. I just
switched it in the IE 7 options.

Oh, my. That would have been nice to know in the first place. Now you know
why I crabbed at you for posting "insufficient information" in my first
reply. I suspected there was more to this story.
One of the worst things you can ever do is upgrade a version of Outlook with
the hopes that it will fix an existing problem. It never does. What it
actually does is render the original problem completely unsolvable, which
yours now is. I would suggest that you live with what you have until your
next reformat.
Please always post complete and accurate details when you use newsgroups. It
saves everyone a lot of time.

Problem is, you think you are posting enough info and it's never enough.
Everyone is different, looking for different info, tackling these problems
from different angles. Sometimes it takes a few back and forths to get it
right I guess. Been down this road many times.

In fact, it opens in Outlook Express, although my chosen
default
mail
client
is Outlook. Creating a short cut in the "Send to" folder to
Outlook.exe
with
the command "/c ipm.note" at the end does not work. It gives
an
error
message
that the command line argument is not valid, although it reads
just
as
it
should. Does anybody know how to fix this? It is driving me
crazy.
