Right-Click Search Error - WinExplorer - XP Home : Second Try

Hey, all. Really hope someone out there can help:

In Windows Explorer, the machine I'm using returns the
following error when I right-click a directory (any
directory) and select Search:

"There was a problem sending the command to the program."

Haven't hit any useful info on this through Google or
Microsoft.com links. Searching keywords in XP newsgroups
General and Performance & Maintenance hasn't turned up
the info I need, either.

Anyone know what the problem is and how to resolve it?
Would like to fix my hosts' machine before I head back to
NYC.

See if this helps:

Click [Start] [Run] type "cmd" and press Enter
type one by one:

"regsvr32 /i shell32"
"regsvr32 /i c:\windows\srchasst\srchui"
"regsvr32 /i browseui"
"regsvr32 /i shdocvw"

Restart Windows.

If this does not help,
1. Log on to the computer by using an account with administrator
permissions.
2. Click Start, click Run, type %systemroot%\inf, and then click OK.
3. Locate the Srchasst.inf file.
4. Right-click the Srchasst.inf file, and then click Install. This
reinstalls the files that Search Companion uses.

NOTE: If you are prompted for the location of msgr3en.dll and your computer
came with Windows XP preinstalled, it is likely to be at C:\Windows\i386.
Type C:\Windows\i386 into the Copy Files From dialog and press OK.

just in case: Thanks for the info.

After telling Ken about this exchange, I ended up
following the one he'd started. That's where I saw the
ZA tweak, which resolved the issue.
