Right Click on Quick Lauch toolbar icons restarts explorer.exe

Whenever I right click on any of my Quick Launch toolbar icons,
explorer.exe "seems" to crash/restart. However, if I first unlock the
toolbars and then re-lock them, all right clicks work.

I do not know when this first started but I do know that it seem to
have become noticable after I have installed Windows Defender (not
Beta), Internet Explorer 7.0 and Windows Media Player 11.

How can I fix this????

I solved this problem on my home PC now. However, still having issue
with my PC at work. At home, the issue seemed to have been a loft-over
DLL file form a CheckPoint SecuRemote uninstall. I check with
HiJackThis and removed the left-over DLL.

BTW: I located a tool which "guides" you in reading HiJackThis logs.

It signalled the left-over file.

This might be worth a shot.

Try disabling the SSDP Discovery Service and the Universal Plug and Play
Device Host service.

Your pointer changes to an hourglass when you hold it over the taskbar for a
few minutes after starting your Windows XP-based computer

I've check all this but nothing seemed to fix it. However, I
accidentally removed a toolbar (Google Deskbar) and every thing is
working correctly. Seems that the toolbar was incompatible, or bad, on
my PC.

I never would have thought of a 3rd party POS toolbar.

Glad you got it fixed.
