I have "caught" this problem after performing the SP2 update, now when I
right click on a folder in explorer, everything comes to a halt and I have
to kill the process with task manager, and when I do it messes up the tray,
needing a reboot. I did search Google and found quite a few people with this
problem posting and not getting much real answers on how to remedy this. I
imagine even MS doesn't know squat, notably when Microsoft programs don't
get along with other Microsoft programs. In my situation, it happens even
with a clean boot with msconfig. Right clicking causes an immediate frozen
state with hourglass stuck. It happens when I try using a freeware explorer
clone, such as ExplorerXP, though the crash may not be as severe as with
explorer and may just crash instantly and dissappear. I updated my ATI
drivers, VIA drivers, mouse drivers etc just in case they might have had
something to do with it. Have an Athlon 2700 on an A7V8X-X mobo with 2gb
ram, no spyware, trojans or virii. Needless to say it is very annoying,
notably when this simple function works fine on my older win98 machine..
arrrrgggg...
