Right click menu question

S

**{Steven}**

I recently installed paintshop pro and it added an option to the right click
menu. I use right click a lot on the my computer icon and I don't like
having the psp option there. How can I remove it?

Thanks In Advance

First thing, look for a possible option in PSP itself, for "shell
integration" or the like, and turn it off.

Yeah, I already did that. That's why I am posting here, looking for a way to
remove it.

Go to Kelly's site, linked below, and click on "R". Scroll down to...
"Right Click Context Menus - Deleting entries"

Incidentally, to avoid ragged, short lines in quotes within your replies,
consider installing OEQuoteFix, from
http://HOME.IN.TUM.DE/~jain/software/oe-quotefix/

It patches this long-broken aspect of O.E.

Simply take the string that is standing in your right-
click-menu, type it in somewhere, then go to the windows
manu, take 'Run', type in regedit, and then take the
option 'Find' in the menu above, put the string from the
right-click-menu in as search criteria, and you will find
the registry data you have to delete ;)
This worked for me.
Best of luck, greetz

I assume you're meaning the New menu when you right click, yes? Here's a
fix: open your registry (start - run - regedit). Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
Find the .xxx file extension for what you're looking for, which in this case
I'll assume is .psp (notice the . before the extension).

Once you identify and find the extension you're trying to remove, expand the
folder on the left (.psp). Find and delete the ShellNew folder.

Go back to your desktop, refresh (F5), and check your work. The New -->
Paintshop pro option should be gone.

Hope this helps.
