Right Click in Windows explorer

I'm not sure if my problem is the same as Eva's earlier post, but here goes. Whenever I open "My Computer" in Windows Explorer and right click on a file (to copy it to the clipboard for example), all of the icons on my desktop disappear for a few seconds and then re-appear. Once the icons show back up, Windows explorer has shut down and most of the icons in the tray are gone. I have tried resarting my computer, but whenever I right click on a file the same thing happens again..and again...and again... This just started happening yesterday. I have not installed anything new and even tried going back to Saturdays restore point, but nothing has helped.

Am I alone with this problem, or has anyone else run into this and if so, what was done to fix it?

Thank You,
Brian

That implies that something is crashing explorer - and in the context it
is a Context Menu Handler. I think the best action, as SR has not cured
it (so it is not a registry damage), is to put the CD in the drive; exit
its Auto run, then go to Start - Run and run
SFC /SCANNOW
to refresh system files

PROBLEM SOLVED!!
My Problem: When I right click on a sub-directory in Windows Explorer I get the error message that explorer has encountered an error and has to quit ... does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this. It just started doing this recently but I don't know what caused it.
Thanks

This problem has just about driven me crazy but a few minutes ago I finally
discovered what was causing it! I uninstalled Spy Sweeper & the right click
in Windows Explorer works fine now!! Hope this helps everyone else having
this problem! Good Luck!

I'm glad I found this message!! I was having the same
problem and never associated it with Spy Sweeper until
now, although the problem began at the same time I
installed it.

Thanks
