Help!
When I right-click in Windows Explorer on documents etc., my computer tries
to install ScanSoft Create 3! and it can't find a printer file. It does this
every time and then rolls back and if I right click to delete anything I have
to deal with this. This began about a month ago. I have had Scan Soft
OmniPage 15 and Create on my machine for over a year without out any of this.
I don't know what I did to cause it and don't know how to stop this. It
tries to install about 3 times before my right click menu comes up so I can
delete or copy or anything.
Please someone tell me how to correct this....

Have you tried to uninstall the ScanSoft software and then reinstall the
software? If I was you, I would uninstall the software and run the following
utility from Microsoft.

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

Once you have run this utility, try to reinstall the ScanSoft software.

Also the following article /may/ apply to your problem.

Right-click is slow or weird behaviour caused by context menu handlers

I have tried to uninstall the software and it won't uninstall, it gets to the
point where it can't seem to find a file and then rolls back . I have tried
this numerous times. It also won't let me reinstall over it using the
original CD.

Hi chris38,

I would suggest contacting the ScanSoft people for assistance.

You could also try this but this method has no guarantee it will correct
your problem..

1. Delete the ScanSoft folder probably located in the Program Files folder.

2. Edit the Registry at these locations.

[HKCU\Software\ScanSoft] or [HKCU\Software\CompanyName\ScanSoft]
Delete the ScanSoft key.

and

[HKLM\Software\ScanSoft] or [HKLM\Software\CompanyName\ScanSoft]
Delete the ScanSoft key.

3. Try to reinstall the software now.

It turned out Windows Installer was causing the problem.
Downloading, installing, and running the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
took care of the problem.
