Right Click in Excel 2003 (Vista)

My company recently upgraded to Vista, which has been fine, except that right click no longer works in Excel 2003. I've reviewed existing threads on the topic, but none of the solutions seems to apply to my particular setup. I suspect most Excel users will empathize when I say: this is driving me crazy. Thanks for any help the more tech-savvy among you can provide!

This is not typical.

Have you tried different mouses/mice to see if it's a hardware problem? Have
you tried rightclicking in different applications?

If the rightclick works in different applications, does it always fail in all
workbooks in xl2003?

If you start excel in safe mode:
close excel
windows start button|Run
type:
excel /safe
and see if the rightclick works

If it works ok, then I'd guess it was a macro. But you'll have some detective
work to do.

Chip Pearson has some notes on how to diagnose startup errors:
http://www.cpearson.com/excel/StartupErrors.htm

And Jan Karel Pieterse has more notes:
http://www.jkp-ads.com/Articles/StartupProblems.asp

Essentially, you'll turn off all the addins/startup workbooks and then open
excel. And then turn on each addin (closing and reopening) one at a time to
find the culprit.

I started Excel in Safe Mode and right click worked. Then I exited Safe Mode and opened a recent file -- right click worked when it hadn't before. Finally, I opened a new Excel file and once again right click did NOT work. Confusing! I will check out the links you included as something is obviously amiss. Thanks for your help!
