Please can someone help me. When I right click on a desktop icon, i have an
onerous thread lingering. The icon says 'delete with CleanSlate'. I must
have installed something (possibly The Shield 2005 Antivirus!!!) then
uninstalled it with it leaving this thread. Where do I go in the registry to
manually delete this error?? Appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks Carl

Use the free ShellExView to manage context menu extensions:

It depends on where in the right click menu.

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\OpenWithList
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

I had exactly the same problem. The key is WipeAllCom. I found it in:
HKCR/AllFileSystemObjects/shellex/ContextMenuHandler
as well as 2 of the items below (with Directory and Folder substituting for
AllFileSystemObjects above). Deleting those 3 keys eliminated the item from
all my context menus.
