Depends. If either of the versions you have is an OEM version you can't use
that copy in the other machine as an OEM version of XP is always tied to the
machine it is first installed on. You would be required to purchase a
license for that machine.
If both the Home CD and the Pro CD are either upgrade or original install
disks from Microsoft, you should do a new install on the Home to XP machine
even though you could upgrade it. The Pro to Home machine would have to
have the hard drive reformatted and Home installed new as there is no
"downgrade" from XP Pro.
I recommend you get the MS Windows Security Update CD before doing this as
you will have a lot of security items to be downloaded and installed when
you switch OSs. This CD will save a lot of time and effort.

I want to swap the operating systems in two copmputers. One has Xp home
If they are OEM versions then you can not does this.
If they are retail full versions then you can Upgrade or Full install the
computer with Home on it.
You will have to do a Full install on the computer with Pro on it for you
can not down grade without formatting and removing the Pro version.
If it is a retail upgrade you can do it the same as the full install. When
doing a full install with an upgrade version you will have to have a copy of
a qualifying version 95, 98, 98SE, ME.
