Reverse XP Installation

I tried to check my c: drive using the Repair-option in the XP-installation
disk but it seems as though XP started with a new installation of XP. I
didn't click on any options like replace current OS etc.
Now when the PC gets turned on, it keeps on wanting to continue the new
installation. Is there a way for me to access my C: drive to at least backup
some files from there or is there a way how I can stop this installation?
Please help me!

Michael,
by booting to WinXP, won't that increase my troubles? I'm trying to "stop"
this new installation since that was not what I wanted to do PLUS there is a
lot of info on the c: drive that can't be lost.
I don't want to continue with the new installation if I'm going to loose any
documents and files.
Thanks!
Hanlie

Do you get a menu to choose to continue setup and boot into Windows?

As soon as you switch on the PC, it gives the "Booting from CD" message, then
shows the Windows Start-up screen and then give you the blue-Windows screen
saying "Resuming setup" with the dots .............
Then instead of really continuing with the setup it "restarts" the PC and
does the same again.
Now is there a way for me to bypass this installation? What happens if I
"repair" this installation and just continue? Do I loose all the current info
on C:\ ???
If I can get the Info. off then I don't care formatting, and reinstalling
but my big worry is loosing it.
Thanks Michael!

Take the XP CD out of the CD drive.
