Reverse Compatible w/office97?

Wondering why I keep running into "not responding" when I
try to load my original version of Office 97 (or,
specifically, Word 97) into Windows XP. --I replaced my
aging desktop with a new HP laptop, which included
Wordperfect Office. I wanted to add my previous version
of Word so I can read all the mail I get with Word doc's
attached and the -Wperfect app doesn't quite recognize
some of the word formatting and graphics.

I have Word 97 in XP Pro and it works just fine. You might try removing and
reinstalling it.
