I am having a new computer built. I want to install my present copy of XP
Home on the new computer using the same disk and product key that I used on
the original. Will I be able to register XP on this new computer? Will I
have any problems with Microsoft?

Only if you have a "Retail Version" and not
an "OEM Version" of Windows XP.

If it is a purchased retail copy of Home you have the right to remove it
from one system and install it on another. (It must be totally removed from
system one.)

If it's been over 120 days since the initial install on system one you
should have no problems activating and registering it on the new system.

If there is a problem, for some reason, just call the 800 number that
appears on your monitor.

My version came with my original computer. It says "for distribution with a
new PC only". What version do I have?

OEM. AN OEM Windows XP license cannot be installed
nor activated on a different computer.
