Retrieving old email from old hard drive?

Hello, all:

New computer. Saved both hard drives from old computer (one was expensive
SCSI drive), they are extra ones on new computer, all data is intact on them.
Was using both Outlook and OE (wife uses latter), set up both on new
computer. Re-intalled XP and Office 2003 on new hard drive.

QUESTION: I want to retrieve the old email from Outlook and OE and at least
be able to open it and read it with the newly installed Outlook and OE. (I
also need the address books, but will settle for the email for now unless
someone can answer both requests here). What's the best way to do this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Take a look here, it may help:
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm for Outlook.

For OE see http://www.insideoe.com

Thank you for the links. They did not answer my question. However, after
some lengthy attempts to transfer the file (I found it on the old hard drive,
it was a .pab file) with no success, I finally used the following to transfer
the address book:

1) Import address book from old hard drive to Outlook Express, set up as the
address book there;

2) opened Outlook, clicked "file", then "import/export";

3) next window, chose "import internet mail and addresses";

4) click "next", and a couple of windows later selected "ok" (not the choice
to put it in the "inbox"), and it is done.

I still need help to get my old mail from my old hard drive (from Outlook)
to my new hard drive and newly installed Outlook. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike

4) next window, selected "outlook express" and deselected the "mail" box,
leaving the address book box checked;

5) click

OK, now for the instructions to transfer the old Outlook emails to the new
Outlook on the new hard drive. I found the information I needed at Microsoft
Office Online, Outlook, by locating the topic: "Locating your old Outlook
data file". Here is a summary:

The files for Outlook email are hidden. So when I was trying to find them
by using "search", they were not found. I had to tell Windows Explorer to
display hidden files.

I then looked for my old email on my old main hard drive (now used for
backup storage) using the following search path: [drive letter]\Documtents
and Settings\[user name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
In this folder there were two files with an Outlook logo. They were called "
Office Data File". One was my archived email and the other was my email
from before I got the new computer.

I used Windows Explorer to copy these files, then paste them into the
identical Outlook folder on the new hard drive.

Then opened Outlook. Clicked "file", then "open", then "outlook data file".
For some reason the next window did not display both the files I thought I
moved. So I redirected Outlook to go to the old hard drive directory and
open the files directly from that hard drive, which it did, and VOILA, all
old email now transferred to newly installed Outlook.
