retrieving eventlogs from a pc???

Hello,

Is it possible to retrieve the XP eventlog files from a pc and put them to
another for reading? I can get to the ntfs filesystem via bootable linux or
dos CD. The pc itself freezes in login. (Normal, safemode, commandpromt last
good... etc). It would be intresting to see what's it the logs.
