Pen has the right instructions, but there's a bit more:
1) be prepared to leave the machine for a good long time, perhaps hours, at
the screen, waiting for the files to be shown.
2) when you do recover files, please make copies of them in another
location, or, if you don't have enough space, move them to a different
location--perhaps somewhere in My Documents.
3) If you are able to copy the files, as opposed to moving them, I would be
very interested in hearing whether the files are still there in the original
location after a reboot or two.
