Retrieving contacts from old hard drive

My hard drive partially crashed and I had to install a new
hard drive on my PC. I had Outlook on the old hard drive.

I was able to hook old the damaged hard drive in my 2nd
IDE port once I got my PC back up and running and have
managed to salvage a lot of files by copying them to the
new hard drive.

My question is this: I would like to somehow retrieve all
my contacts from my old hard drive copy of Outlook and
import them to the Outlook that is now installed on my new
hard drive. I would also like to retrieve the messages I
had in my personal folder (is this done via the .PST file?
Does it contain the contacts information as well?).

I would appreciate if someone could tell me how to get
this done.

Thanks!

Yes,

It is simple. Just export your entire outlook file as
a .pst to an accessible location. (network, cd, floppy,
etc.)

Then just import it into your new outlook. Go to FILE
and click on import/export and it will walk you through
it.

Good luck.

No need to export and import. In fact that can create more problems.
Just open the old PST in your new installation and Copy/Paste the
information you need into your current PST.
Or if you want to use all the information in your old PST, just copy it to
your new hard drive and configure Outlook to use it as its default.
