retrieve previous profile data

Hi, I have a problem !
I am using outlook 2003 with an exchange account. I needed to move
accounts, so created a .pst file for all my data. The existing exchange
account was removed (on the server) and new one created, this was setup under
a new profile in outlook, the original profile exists.

When importing the data back to the new account, a lot of data was
omitted/lost. I have re-imported it but the data does not seem to be there
in the .pst. Something has occured !? I was confident that the export had
completed and import was not disrupted etc. There is no backup on the server
available etc.

I wonder if the original profile stores the data in a local (no personal
folder files where created though) file. I've looked at all .pst files
locally and imported them all into test acocunts and nothing (none of the
lost data anyhow) was there.

Also, If I try and open the old /original profile and click cancel when
asked to login, would/should it still open and hopefully have original/old
data ? I'm not at the actual machine so speculating at the moment.

Hope someone has some ideas.

Thanks

For pst's the data is stored locally (on the desktop PC) usually in the
windows user grouping for Docs & settings. Any search to include hidden
would find the various pst's and their location.
Importing or Exporting native outlook data can lose both settings and data.
To copy a pst you simply locate it and copy in explorer to another location
(with OL closed)
You open a pst within Outlook, File>Open>Data File.......browse to its
location

If you have opened your pst's and the data is not there then you have lost
it in using whatever method you used to create the pst
