Retain grid after color fill?

When I fill a block with color, the horizontal and vertical grid lines
within this block disappear from the screen. Is there a way to preserve
these grid lines after a color fill (some technique like bringing them to
the foreground)?

No, the fill covers the grid; however, you can place a (thin-lined border
around the filled cells to delineate them).
