Retain 2007 Layouts when Saved as XP?

I wonder if anyone has some advice? I am putting together a template for use
in PP 2007, and have customised the layouts to suit our needs - but there are
still some people using XP, and when I save the file down to XP the layouts
are not available? I would really like this to work - Any advice would be
gratefully received.

XP is an operating system. I'm running XP with 2007, and am not experiencing any problems other than my own finger problems. <g> Now if you really mean people are still using PowerPoint 2003, then there could be problems.

Thanks John - this is exacly what I was afraid would be the outcome. Never

Hi Michael, thanks for the reply - we are still running XP operating System
and Office XP in many of our offices :) Staff are reluctant to leave the
comfort zone of Office XP - but I am working on converting them!

I think if you make sure they all have the compatibility package installed things should go well. See here. http://tinyurl.com/3xr4tt

Hi Again, just had a go at doing this. I installed the patch on an XP OS and
Office XP machine then opened my PP file - it opened just fine but the
layouts that I have created in 2007 are not in the list of available layouts.
They are however still in the master slide view!! will need to work on this
a while longer I think!

Thanks for the idea tho, had high hopes when I read your post.

Do you mean when you save as PPT 97-2003? I expect so, but want to be clear.
I would really like this to work

Since PPT versions previous to 2007 don't allow you to customize layouts, I
doubt that it can be made to work.

It might be better to think in terms of multiple masters rather than a master
with multiple layouts. Earlier versions DO support multiple masters.
