Retail fan on Athlon XP 2200+ (1.8 Ghz)

How noisy is the retail fan that comes with the Athlon XP 2200+ retail
boxed? Must it be left running at 12V, or I could tone it down to 7V
with a fan control device? I won't be overclocking.

Is the fan 60mm or 80mm? Do some of you guys have this CPU running
with a Panaflo L1A running instead of the retail fan?

the fan is fairly loud and 60mm. if you want quiet get a heatsink designed
to be used with an 80mm fan and you might want to try to find the L1BX or
M1BX panaflo, same fan but with RPM monitoring. also check www.newegg.com
and search for speeze, there's a pretty popular heatsink/fan there for $7
that seems to be quiet and if it's still not quiet enough the fan is 80mm
easily replaceable.
