I have an Epox 8RDA+ with an Athlon 3200+ XP CPU overclocked to 2.4 Ghz. I
have a 5500rpm fan on right now (sorry, don't know what it is) and I would
like some advice on the quietest fan/HS solution for this type CPU.

Thank you!

I have a Nexus heatsink and fan on my overclocked Athlon 2500 ( Listed as a
3200 in My Computer), and also my Athlon 1200. Sorry I dont know the model
but they dont do many. Cost about £18 from Novatech (UK)

They are very quiet with a temp of around 42 deg C. I also use their Power
supply on both machines which is equally as quiet, although I have had to
replace a faulty one and also their 8cm Case fan.

I have an Athlon 2700 (Thoroughbred) that runs with the stock HSF at 61 C.
It drove me crazy that it ran that hot w/o any overclocking at all on an MSI
board. I kept thinking that maybe the mb was simply giving me wrong
readings. However, I didn't find any way to verify that kind of a temp so
just assumed that was the situation. Picked up this Silent Boost from
Thermaltake and it brought the temp down to 54 C and was quieter than the
standard retail HSF that came with the cpu. It's a little pricey at $35 with
shipping, but I think it does a decent job.

Amazing!

I picked this one up from NewEgg a few hours ago. Great suggestion!

Thanks!

After a fair amount of research, I ordered one of these nifty things for an
Athlon 3000+ mATX box that I'm putting together:

You can find it for $19 plus shipping here:
