resx files? Do I need them?

I've read a couple of places that VS 2005 no longer uses them for asp.net
projects, but I can't find a definitive answer. I've converted my sites to
..net v2 from v1 and all these files are left over. Can I safely delete them?

If you didn't have any resources in them, yes.
