Hello,

I found this resume template file, that is a "form" you simply fill out the
input boxes, and then it sends the input to a "resume style template" which
you can see and print.
But there are no instructions. Can you help me set it up on my Website
please. I don't know at all what the first step is, and second I don't know
what to fill out in the "Submit" button variables ? Thanks everyone for
your kind help. I appreciate your help. below is the URL:

http://freenshare.granax.com/reswri/

and here is the place where I downloaded the file called:
"reswri" it is down below on the list:

http://freenshare.granax.com/ (p.s. this is a compressed gzip file)

Thanks ! Susu

Please don't take this as not wanting to help but:
What you have found is a form written with a Linux version of Mozilla,
<META NAME="GENERATOR" CONTENT="Mozilla/3.0Gold (X11; I; Linux 2.0.0 i686) [Netscape]">

for an Apache / UNIX server:
Server: Apache/1.3.26 (Unix) PHP/4.2.2 mod_perl/1.29

As such it uses a CGI script most likely written in Pearl.
<FORM METHOD="post" ACTION="/~skang/cgi-bin/resume/reswri">

1. Does your host support Pearl cgi scripts.
2. Are you allowed to run cgi scripts in your domain account.

It is very doubtful you could get this to run in a FrontPage website without a "major"
rewrite,
of not only the form but also the cgi script.
Is the cgi script included in the download??
Do you know anyone who can rewrite a UNIX cgi script??

You really, really should hire someone to write an asp solution for you to accomplish what
you want.

There are many people who can do this.
One I would recommend is MVP Thomas Rowe, but I don't know if he's taking on any new
projects at this time.

Hello Steve,
Thankyou for your reply, yes I use AOL and they have a CGI type website
that I use. Can you help me to try and get this resume script working, at
least in the hopes that it might work slightly. The download is at the site
I mentioned in the last email. and it is compressed into a gzip file which I
have uncompressed. If you like I can send the whole package to you.
Thankyou so much, Susu

Susu.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with scripting in Pearl for UNIX, so there's
no way I could rewrite it.
JavaScript, VB Script, VB classic in Visual studio, and Visual Studio .NET
2003 yes.
Pearl, No.

I've never worked with an AOL server and I have no idea what scripting
languages they support.
CGI is not a language, it's an interface. Pearl ( or another language ) is
the scripting / programming medium.
Can you help me to try and get this resume script working, at
least in the hopes that it might work slightly

No. Working "slightly" is not an option in my book.

Once again:
You really, really should hire someone to write an asp or other server side
solution for you to accomplish what
you want.

If you're unfamiliar with "Pearl" I'm not suprised.

How about "PERL"?
